Things they never tell you about being a mom.

I am finding that there are a lot of things that they never tell you about being a mom. Like that you would cheer on your child when he finally left a present in his diaper after several days without one.... That you would drive all the way home from town with your arm streched back over the seat cutting off your circulation to hold up your child's head as he slept so he didn't get a sore neck. . .

No one told me that after I had a child I would suddenly see germs everywhere on places that used to seem clean, that Clorox wipes would become a must have in my purse- oh yeah I forgot what purse- who can carry one with a 20lb kid, and the diaper bag!

And the biggest thing no one told me is how you manage to use the restroom while you are out shopping alone with your baby . . . . Leaving him in the car is obviously not an option, nor is laying him on the bathroom floor, and I am not enough of a juggler to hold at the same time (the thought alone makes me laugh). I considered handing him to the nice looking lady in Customer Service (Hey I'm a customer I need service!) but then all these kidnapping stories came to mind. . . . At this point I am starting to think I may never attempt to leave the house alone again or at least avoid drinking anything for several hours before I do.

Thank you so much everyone for all your kind responses. There were alot of people who said they would like this page in girl colors- so many in fact that I think I will offer all the pages that I have done so far re-done in pink, purple, and peach when I am done posting this set.

6 months already! Valentines Ideas-

It is so hard to believe that my little guy is 6 months old already. His checkup was on Thursday and he weighed 20lbs even. Time for a new carseat which we bought today. It was really surprising how cheaply made many of them seemed. I had my heart set on a Britax but when we compared it side by side with the Saftey 1st model we ended up getting it just didn't seem as comfortable or have as many features. Not to mention it was almost $100 more in price.

For Valentines day we tried putting his handprints (with paint) on Valentine dishtowels for the Grandma's but Porter was more interested in eating the paint than putting it on the towel. The one we managed to get done didn't turn out the best so I kept it and we ended up tracing his hand with a pencil on the others then tracing over it with a red permanent marker- I really liked how they turned out.

Don't you just want to pinch those chubby little cheeks!

My First Digital Paper Set

I finally finished my first paper set. I am making Porter a digital baby scrapbook from scratch and these papers are my start at that. If it seems like people are interested in them I am more than happy to share these papers. . . However, right now I do not have the "pro" version of WINZIP that allows me to bundle them together for you to upload so I can only put them on one at a time. I plan on buying it if enough people are interested in using this stuff. BUT FOR NOW- I am going to start adding one page a day and will keep adding if people seem interested (so if you want me to keep adding pages let me know!)



If you download I just have three little requests



1. PLEASE leave a comment on the blog or on 4shared so I know what you like/dislike about these papers so that I can take that into account if I decide to make more to share...

A Day Late. . .

Photoshop has arrived

At last my photoshop program has arrived! I am so excited to play around with it. I think it will be great for putting together scrapbook pages. I am also working on some desingns for digital paper, especially with words. This background "Called to Serve" paper is my first try. If you want to try it you can download it here.

Snow Day

Oh the joys of living in the country!!! Today was a snow day, no church, no work, no obligations just our little family, a pan of brownies, a few games of battelship, and fast forwarding through the Superbowl to watch the comercials. . . . Its probably good that we are just hangin' out at home today because Baby Bear has a second tooth breaking through today and he is getting CRANKY!

If you didn't guess I made our blog heading- I also made one for my sister Chelsea. If there is anyone who would like me to make one for them just let me know- All I need is a picture or two or three and an idea of what type of theme you want it to be and what colors.

Glenn Beck Program - President Hinckley

Last night I and Aaron went to the Glenn Beck benifit for a family in our area who has 4 sons iwht Muscular Distrophy. Not only did we really enjoy the program it was nice to know we were helping out such a worthy cause. He was hillarious!

Also on his show he did a tribute to President Gordon B. Hinckley. It is wonderful I hope you take the time to listen to it http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/200/5127/

It is sad to loose such a great man as President Hinckley but happy for him.
